Compromise

It is almost impossible for me to accept that well meaning people can hold the views espoused by the Republican house. But, if I strain and push, I can.  The results trouble me, for, if they exist, they must see me as I see them, as  an ' evil doer'.  In that world, there is a God who concerns himself with us (and agrees with them); in mine, not.  In mine, evolution, in theirs, not. In mine, universal single payer; in theirs, not. In theirs, the owners should inherit the earth; in mine, not...In our separate minds, both worlds exist.  Can we share a planet?

Or maybe they're not well meaning.

Why love ritual?

Why love ritual.  A question can be answered in different ways.  Ritual makes us feel secure.  Visiting a moment for the umpteenth time brings serenity and a clarity that is hard to match.  It may be the stoned pot head rolling another joint, the star athlete taking his starting position, the religious adherent swaying, or kneeling, or dancing or singing in ecstasy.  It could be any of us.  It is the moment that unites us all if we can accept the validity of theirs.
